The advancement of Nürburgring toward an all-season center of business and recreation goes on according to plan. After the ground-braking ceremony in november 2007 and laying the foundation stone in april 2008 it is already being worked on with high pressure for festivities around the opening. Also during the sold out festival “Rock am Ring” with 85.000 fans the construction works were going on.
The date for a ceremonial act with prime minister Kurt Beck and invited guests from economy, politics and sports is fixed: Thursday, 11th of june 2009.
Until the opening emerges a weatherproof all-the-year open “ring boulevard”, which houses adventure worlds of various brands of leading automobile manufacturers and car accessory. There is also located the “ring arena” with approximately 2.100 qm useable area where 3.100 people can be seated. Directly neihbouring you find the “WARSTEINER Event-Center” with about 1.800 qm useable area for up to 1.800 people. The new theme-park “ring werk” is going to be a crowd puller: as a mixture of museum and theme-park it offers about 4-5 hours of entertainment, interaction and interesting facts about the Nürburgring.
Also the “ring racer”, a ride which accelerates faster than a racer, let the fans get excited by now. A new grandstand offers 4.760 roofed seats and a business-loge for up to 600 people. A new four star hotel conducted of Lindner Hotels AG, as well as a motorsports village and the “Eifeldorf Grüne Hölle” round out the comprehensive attractions at the Nürburgring. The networking active marketing measures using already existing as well as future building blocks constitute the foundation of a long-term strategy for growth of the Nürburgring.
“Also and especially motorsports events will be much more like public festivals where you can arrive with kit and caboodle. At the same time we provide furthermore a premium platform for economy to present their brands and new designs,” that`s how Dr. Walter Kafitz describes the bipolar model of brands of the Nürburgring.
